Robbery is the act of unlawful taking a large amount of public and private property with the intent of illegal possession. Even if the perpetrator avoided the means of force or fear, the snatching itself is likely to cause injury to the victim. Therefore, such cases would seriously infringe upon the personal and property safety of college students, which is of great harm. To avoid robbery, please be cautious:
1. Do not take too much cash and conspicuous valuables out;
2. Do not show off or expose cash or valuables.
3. Carry cash or valuables next to your skin rather than in a handbag or satchel.
4. Avoid going out alone during lunch break, late at night or when there are few people.
5. Do not stay alone or walk in any devious, dark area.
6. Do not get nervous or coward when realizing someone is trailing or peeping. Look back staring at him (or her) frequently, or hum songs while changing the original route to where there are more people and light.
When robbery occurs, keep calm and respond in a timely manner.
1. Call out loud and go after the robber to force him (or her) to give up the robbed properties as he (or she) is desperate to escape after robbing. If you are incapable of subduing the robber, go after and keep a distance to the robber while crying out loud for help.
2. If you fall behind, bear in mind the escape direction of the perpetrator and the characteristics of his (or her) clothing, hair style, movement, etc. Ask for help in crowded place nearby, and report the case to the university security department or the security staff in time.
